Our Privacy Commitment
Wealth Wave is designed with your privacy as the absolute top priority.
Wealth Wave works completely without sending any data to servers. All your financial information stays on your device by default. We collect ZERO personal data from our users unless you explicitly opt-in to the optional cloud sync feature.
1. Information We Collect
Wealth Wave does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information from users by default. The application is designed to work entirely offline with all data stored locally on your device.
1.1 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Financial account numbers or transaction details
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or app performance data
- Any data that could identify you personally
1.2 Local Data Storage
All transaction data, debt records, budgets, and settings are stored locally on your device only in a SQLite database. This data is:
- Never uploaded to any server
- Never transmitted over the internet
- Never shared with third parties
- Never used for analytics or advertising purposes
- Deleted when you uninstall the app
1.3 Cloud Sync for Cross-Device Access (Optional - Requires Your Consent)
Important: Wealth Wave is designed to work completely without sending any data to servers. All core functionality operates entirely offline with data stored locally on your device.
Optional Cloud Sync Feature: Wealth Wave offers an optional cloud sync feature that allows you to sync your data between multiple devices for a unified experience. This feature is completely optional and requires your explicit consent before any data is sent to our servers.
- Default Behavior: By default, cloud sync is disabled. All data remains stored locally on your device only. The application works perfectly without any server connection.
- User Consent Required: We only collect and sync your data if you explicitly opt-in and enable the "Auto Cloud Sync" feature in the app settings. You will be shown a clear warning dialog explaining what data will be synced before you can enable this feature.
- Purpose: Data collection is solely for the purpose of syncing your transactions, debts, budgets, and settings between your devices, enabling you to access your data from any device. This is the only reason we collect data.
- Secure Server: Your data is sent to a secure server with industry-standard encryption to protect your information during transmission and storage.
- Privacy Guarantee: Your synced data will never be shared with anyone, including third parties, advertisers, or any other entity. It is used exclusively for syncing between your own devices.
- User Control: You have full control to enable or disable cloud syncing at any time through the app settings. You can also delete your synced data from the server at any time.
- Data Security: All data collected for syncing is encrypted and stored securely on our servers.
- Opt-Out: You can stop syncing and delete your synced data from the server at any time by disabling the feature in settings. Once disabled, no further data will be sent to our servers.
Your Choice: You can use Wealth Wave entirely offline with all data stored locally on your device (the default and recommended mode), or you can opt-in to cloud sync for cross-device access. The choice is entirely yours, and you can change your preference at any time. The app works perfectly in both modes.

3. Third-Party Services
3.1 Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
Advertising Disclosure: Wealth Wave uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements in the free version of the app. Users can remove ads by unlocking the premium version.
Data Collection by Google: When ads are displayed, Google Mobile Ads may collect and use data according to their privacy policy. This may include:
- Device advertising identifiers
- App activity information
- Location data (if permitted)
- Device and network information
- Interaction data with ads

Opt-Out: You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings or by unlocking the premium version of the app, which removes all advertisements.
Important: Google Mobile Ads only operates when the app has internet connectivity. Our core functionality (transaction tracking, debt management, budgets) works 100% offline and does not require internet access.
3.2 Other Third-Party Services
Wealth Wave does NOT use any other third-party services, including:
- Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.)
- Crash reporting services (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)
- Social media platforms
- Cloud storage providers
- Payment processors (all transactions are processed by mobile money providers, not by our app)
4. How We Process Your Data
Everything happens on YOUR device:
- SMS Reading: The app reads SMS from mobile money providers using Android's SMS permission
- Local Processing: Transaction information is extracted and processed entirely on your device
- Local Storage: All data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device only
- Zero Transmission: Your financial data is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party (except for ad serving, see section 3.1)
5. Internet Connection
Wealth Wave does NOT require an internet connection for core functionality. The application is designed to work completely offline by default.

You can block the app's internet access using a mobile firewall, and all features (except ads and optional cloud sync) will continue to work perfectly. Even with internet access, no data is sent to servers unless you explicitly opt-in to cloud sync.
6. Data Sharing
We do NOT share your financial data with anyone.
Your transaction information, debt records, budgets, and all other app data:
- ✅ Stays on your device by default
- ✅ Is only uploaded to our secure server if you explicitly opt-in to the cloud sync feature (see section 1.3)
- ✅ Is never shared with third parties (except ad serving data, see section 3.1)
- ✅ Is never sold to any third party
- ✅ Is never used for any purpose other than displaying it to you within the app or syncing to your devices (if you opt-in)
Cloud Syncing: If you choose to enable cloud syncing (as described in section 1.3), your data will be stored securely on our servers with encryption, solely for the purpose of syncing between your devices to provide a unified experience across devices. Even with syncing enabled, your data will never be shared with anyone or used for any other purpose.
7. Data Security
Wealth Wave implements multiple layers of security to protect your data:
- Local Storage: Your device's security features (screen lock, encryption) protect your local data
- Secure Lock Screen: We recommend using a secure lock screen on your device, and the app supports biometric authentication for additional protection
- Cloud Sync Security: If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted during transmission and storage on our secure servers using industry-standard encryption protocols
- Data Deletion: If you uninstall the app, all local data is automatically deleted. If cloud sync is enabled, you can delete your synced data from the server by disabling the feature
- User Control: Database backups are stored on your device only - you control who has access. Cloud-synced data is only accessible to you through your authenticated account
- No Unauthorized Access: Your data is protected by authentication mechanisms, and we implement security best practices to prevent unauthorized access
8. Children's Privacy
Wealth Wave does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we collect no personal data from our users, there are no age restrictions from a privacy perspective. However, we recommend that children use the app under parental supervision.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.
9. Your Rights
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- Right to Access: All your data is already accessible within the app. You can export your data as CSV or Excel files at any time.
- Right to Delete: Uninstall the app to delete all data. You can also delete individual transactions, debts, or budgets from within the app.
- Right to Export: Use the export feature to save your data to CSV or Excel files stored on your device.
- Right to Opt-Out: You can disable SMS reading permissions, which will prevent automatic transaction detection. You can also remove ads by unlocking the premium version.
10. Open Source Transparency
Wealth Wave is fully open source.
You can:

- ✅ Audit all network requests
- ✅ Build the app yourself from source

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Posting a notice on our GitHub repository
- If changes are significant, we may notify users through the app
Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Future Features: If we introduce new features that require additional data collection, we will:
- Update this privacy policy with clear details about what data will be collected and why
- Require explicit user consent before collecting any data
- Provide clear opt-in and opt-out mechanisms
- Never share your data with third parties, regardless of any new features
Our Promise: We will NEVER collect or share your financial data without your explicit consent. This is a core principle of Wealth Wave. Cloud sync is available as an optional feature that you can enable or disable at any time.

- Blocking internet access using a firewall and confirming core features work perfectly offline

- Building the app from source yourself to ensure you're running exactly the code you see on GitHub
